Our team

Rich Magner, Chairman of Black Diamond Builders, LLC has been a developer and building contractor of commercial real estate development projects since 1977.

Since the seventies, Rich has worked for many developments and construction companies focused on retail development and construction including Morgan Real Estate, Related Group, Adler, the Tower Group, and RJM Development Group.

Most recently, Rich was the Vice President of Real Estate Development and Construction at Morgan Property Group, before branching off and creating Black Diamond Builders, LLC and RJM Development Group, LLC.

Patrick Magner is a third generation building contractor who has focused his entire education and experience on building construction, commercial real estate development, and real estate law.

Before joining Black Diamond Builders in 2014, Patrick studied Real Estate and Risk Management at Florida State University, he earned his Juris Doctor degree (J.D.) from Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad Law Center, and he studied Real Property Development earning his Master of Laws degree (LL.M.) from the University of Miami School of Law. Patrick is a licensed attorney in the State of Florida. Patrick has also passed the National Association of State Contractors Licensing Agencies (NASCLA) National Commercial Building Contractors Examination which allows him to be a licensed Commercial General Contractor in the following states: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Nevada, North Carolina, South Carolina, Oregon, Utah, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, and the Virgin Islands.

During his time at Black Diamond Builders, Patrick has had the opportunity to build various types of retail development projects for developers and international retailers alike, including Walgreens Drug Stores, 7-Eleven Gas and Convenience Stores, and multi-tenant retail shop buildings for tenants such as Starbucks Coffee, O’Reilly Auto Parts, and Pacific Dental. He serves in many roles for the company including Project Manager, Assistant Project Manager, Chief Estimator, General Counsel, and head of Business Development and Marketing.

Patrick is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and is also a dedicated supporter of many local charitable foundations such as the Catawba Lands Conservancy, Boys and Girls Club, the Carolina Climbers Coalition, and the Access Fund. Patrick is an avid climber and enjoys the outdoors including hiking, backpacking, tree houses, yoga, and Formula 1 racing.
